Every person who plays the guitar knows what it is like to have coordination problems between the left and right hands. Anytime something like this goes wrong, you need to be sure to place blame in the right place.
It is vital to slow down your playing until you can decide which hand is out of sync. You will be simply wasting your time doing picking exercises for your right hand when it is your left hand’s strength and endurance that is the actual cause of your problem.

Guitar Lessons For Beginners – 5 steps to strengthening your left hand fingers.
Step 1 – Assume a starting position of your first finger behind the first fret on the the first string and your third finger behind the third fret on the second string. It is important to make sure both fingers come down on the strings at the exact same time. Next swap your fingers so that your first finger is on the second string behind the first fret and your third finger is behind the third fret on the first string.
Step 2 – Position your left hand so the first finger is behind the first fret on the first string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the third string. Next, change your fingers so your first finger is on the third string behind the first fret and your third finger is on the first string behind the third fret.
Step 3- Place your left hand so that your first finger is behind the first fret on the first string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the fourth string. Next, similar to in the last two steps, swap your fingers so that… the first finger is behind the first fret on the fourth string and the third finger is behind the third fret on the first string.
Step 4 -For this step place your left hand so your first finger is behind the first fret on the first string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the fifth string. Then, as before, swap your fingers so your first finger is behind the first fret on the fifth string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the first string.
Step 5 – For the final step, place your left hand so your first finger is behind fret one on the first string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the sixth string. Finally swap these fingers so your first finger is behind the first fret on the sixth string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the first string.
Additional Advice: Play these exercises using your right hand fingers, not a pick. Plus, make sure to practice these exercises very slowly so you are certain your hands are in sync. with each other.
It will be the most beneficial if you practice these exercises once or twice a week. You will quickly see that after just a few practice sessions you will be able to see more strength and accuracy forming in your left hand. As a result, you will be able to advance your guitar skill and have more fun while you play your guitar!
